Weaver was an Anoka County prosecutor and five-term state Representative (HD 49A, 1989-1999).
Anderson was a resident of St. Paul. This was her fifth failed attempt to become the state attorney general, also losing the Independent-Republican primaries of 1982, 1986, and 1990 and the 1994 general election.
