Special primary election to the fill the vacancy after the resignation of DFL Representative Alan Welle on January 4, 1994 as part of a plea agreement to a gross misdemeanor charge of misconduct by a public official related to misuse of public telephones. Hage worked in the pharmacy at Willmar's state Regional Treatment Center. Olson was a former U.S. Representative (CD 06, 1963-1967), state Senator SD 23, 1969-1973; SD 21, 1973-1977), and Lieutenant Governor (1976-1979).
