Kennedy and Johnson each received Minnesota's 11 Electoral College votes.
Kennedy's 1.43-point win was the second narrowest to date in Minnesota history behind Charles Evans Hughes' 0.10-point win over President Woodrow Wilson in 1916. Only Walter Mondale's 0.18-point victory over President Ronald Reagan in 1984 would later bump this election to the third narrowest decision. The contest was the seventh most competitive in the nation.
