Gallagher was an attorney from Waseca and former member of the Waseca School Board. He was the younger brother of former Chief Justice Henry Gallagher.

Associate Justice Olson was reelected to a fourth term. Olson resigned on May 10, 1948 due to ill health. Governor Luther Youngdahl appointed Oscar Knutson to fill the vacancy on May 10, 1948. Knutson was a resident of Warren, sitting Fourteenth Judicial District Judge (1941-1948), former Mayor of Warren, former Warren City Attorney, and manager of the Warren Telephone Company.

Christianson was appointed to the Court by Governor Edward Thye on March 26, 1946 after Associate Justice Luther Youngdahl resigned on March 15, 1946 to run for governor. Christianson was a Red Wing City Attorney.

Rollin Johnson was an attorney from Forest Lake, former state Representative (HD 43, 1925-1931, 1935-1943), and former Railroad and Warehouse Commissioner (1943-1945, 1948-1949).
