Governor Olson was reelected to a second term.
Brown was a resident of Brooklyn Center, former Hennepin County Sheriff (1920-1929, 1943-1947), and Chief Patrol Officer of the Minnesota Highway Patrol (1929-1932).
Regan was an attorney from Mankato and state Representative (HD 08, 1931-1933).
Schneiderman had been an organizational secretary for the Communist Party in California, Connecticut, and Minnesota. Schneiderman was nominated by petition.
Johnson, a resident of St. Paul, was the Socialist Labor U.S. House nominee for the 6th CD in 1900 and Industrial Labor gubernatorial nominee in 1916. Johnson was nominated by petition.
By the 1930s, the Socialist Labor Party of Minnesota became known as the Industrial Party, and the Industrial Government Party by the 1940s.
