Sullivan, a St. Paul attorney, was a twice-failed candidate for the GOP nomination for attorney general (1918, 1920) and placed second as an independent in the 1920 general election.

Larson was an attorney from Minneapolis and former Benton County Attorney (1907-1908). Larson lost the GOP primaries for Attorney General in 1920 and 1922.

Smelker, a St. Paul attorney and former Wisconsin Assemblyman, was the Farmer-Labor nominee for the office in 1922.

Peterson and Kroman were residents of Minneapolis.
