The initial vote count had Lemon defeating Conroy by 28 votes (3,717 to 3,689). Conroy won the recount by 55 votes. Lemon then filed a contest against Conroy for violating the corrupt practices act, but Conroy's victory was upheld. The initial official canvass vote tally is listed above.
