Blaine and Logan each received Minnesota's seven Electoral College votes. For the first time in state history Minnesota did not back the Electoral College winner (Democrat Grover Cleveland). Blaine’s 21.90-point win in Minnesota was his second best in the 10-state Midwest region, recording a larger victory only in Kansas (24.2 points).
