Hahn was elected to a second full term. A constitutional amendment passed in 1883 requiring state elections to be held in even-numbered years; as such, Hahn's new term was set for three years through December 1886.
Willis was a St. Paul attorney, former member of the St. Paul Board of Education, Democratic-People's nominee for Associate Supreme Court Justice in 1894, and Democratic nominee for the 4th CD in 1898.
Cadwell practiced law in LeSueur.
