Lindholm was a resident of Vasa and teacher at Vasa High School.

Rice was a resident of Kandiyohi County.

Anderson was a resident of Minneapolis.

Republican Senator Albert E. Rice had received the Greenback nomination for the office but eventually declined. The Greenback Party Central Committee substituted Professor Charles (C.H.) Roberts of Rochester as a last-minute nominee.
