Baasen was an attorney from New Ulm and member of the Minnesota Territorial House (HD 10, 1857) and was later elected to the state House (HD 34, 1873-1874).
Stannard was an attorney from Taylors Falls and member of the Territorial House (HD 01, 1857) who would later get elected to the state Senate (SD 25, 1859-1861) and state House (HD 02, 1871-1872).
