1975 Election Cycle

There was one special legislative election held in 1975 with Republican Nancy Brataas holding SD 33. The Rochester-based legislator was the second woman elected to the chamber in state history following Laura Emelia Naplin (1927-1935).

The Minnesota Republican Party changed its name to the Independent-Republican party in November 1975.
