Scott County

Scott County is located in the Southeastern Twin Cities metropolitan area and was established on March 5, 1853 by the Territorial Legislature. Scott County is named for General Winfield Scott who served as the commanding general of the U.S. Army from 1841 to 1861 and was the Whig presidential nominee in 1852. Shakopee is the county seat.
