Norman County
Norman County is located in Northwestern Minnesota along the North Dakota border and was established on February 17, 1881 by the State Legislature. It was created from a portion of Polk County. Norman County is named for the large proportion of Normans (Norwegians) who comprised the county at the time. Ada is the county seat. Sources: Norman County Historical Society website.
