Lyon County
Lyon County is located in Southwestern Minnesota and was established by two acts of the State Legislature on March 6, 1868 and March 2, 1869. Lyon County is named after Brigadier General Nathaniel Lyon who was the first Union Army general killed in the U.S. Civil War. Marshall is the county seat.
