Lincoln County
Lincoln County is located in Southwestern Minnesota along the South Dakota border and was established on March 6, 1873 by the State Legislature. The county was created from the western part of Lyon County. Lincoln County is named after Republican U.S. President Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865) following three previous attempts to so honor him in the state in 1861, 1866, and 1870. Ivanhoe is the county seat.
