Jackson County

Jackson County is located in Southwestern Minnesota along the Iowa border and was established on May 23, 1857 by the Territorial Legislature. Jackson County is said to be named after either Democratic Territorial Representative Henry Jackson (HD 03, 1849-1850) or U.S. President Andrew Jackson (1829-1837). Jackson is the county seat.
