| Notes: | Dehnel came to Fairfax, Minnesota with his family in 1891. Dehnel founded 21 newspapers in the state, 16 of which were still in existence at the time of his passing. He was charged with sedition for being critical of U.S. governmental policies prior to World War I and was later declared an enemy alien and interned at Fort Oglethorpe until the end of the war. |
