Notes: | Wefald was the grandson of Farmer-Labor Party founder, tate Representative (HD 60, 1913-1915; HD 49, 1915-1917), U.S. Representative (CD 09, 1923-1927), and Railroad & Warehouse Commissioner (1933-1936) Knud Wefald, and nephew of former state Senator Magnus Wefald. He served as Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture from 1971 to 1977. Wefald served as president of Southwest Minnesota State University from 1977 to 1980, Chancellor of Minnesta State Universities from 1980 to 1986, and president of Kansas State University from 1986 to 2009. |
