Notes: Johnson was the Prohibition Party nominee for Illinois Attorney General in 1884 and Illinois' CD 16 in 1886, 1888, and 1892. Johnson was the Prohibition Party national chairman from 1892 to 1896. Johnson was shot and killed by a debtor in Bogota, Illinois. The murderer was trying to collect a court-ordered debt that Johnson refused to pay.
