Notes: Bryan was a younger brother of three-time Democratic presidential nominee William Jennings Bryan. Bryan lost gubernatorial elections in 1916, 1918, 1926, 1928, 1938, and 1942. Following his third gubernatorial term Bryan lost the U.S. Senate Democratic primary in 1934. He was also defeated in the 1st CD Democratic primary in 1940.
